Nerium oleander, also known as oleander for short, is an evergreen, medium to large shrub, with a beautiful upright shape. The leaves are narrow, smooth, edged, leathery, gray-green to dark green on top and lighter in color and matte on the underside. In optimal conditions, the oleander blooms from July to September, with single or double flowers, which can be pink, white, yellow, orange or even red depending on the variety. Oleander likes a position in full sun, but in partial shade it is more likely to bolt and become lanky. In general, little pruning is required and it is also a good coastal plant.
